Following on from my initial review of this powder, I was firmly convinced that the issues I experienced were less to do with the powder itself and more to do with the way it was interacting with my other products, not least because I had so much trouble finding any other negative reviews in relation to its performance!
So rather than filing it away, I decided to pass it on to a friend to test. Said friend uses Charlotte Tilbury products almost exclusively, and the Magic Foundation and Magic Away Concealer are two of her “standard” base products. She had yet to test the loose powder, so it seemed like a perfect opportunity.
Sure enough, she had no trouble with it! She, as with many other people, isn’t a big fan of the smell, but the performance was absolutely spot on. The finish on her skin is lovely. We’ve reached a cheerful agreement where she keeps the powder, and the next time she gets a similar product she doesn’t get on with, she’ll pass it on to me. Hurrah for fellow beauty fans!
So: the powder is just fine – really lovely, even! But for whatever reason, it doesn’t like NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer! It’s simply an unfortunate truth that not all products work well together – and sometimes the only way to find out is trial and error!
